YJSO Scholarships

All members of the York Junior Symphony Orchestra are eligible to audition for a Summer Music Camp Scholarship. Scholarship winners must adhere to the Summer Music Camp Scholarship Rules and Regulations or forfeit such an award. Members are only eligible for one scholarship throughout their tenure at YJSO and must submit an application before auditioning. Below outlines scholarship audition expectations and a list of camps that students have attended in the past.

Auditions

Scholarship applicants shall be tested as follows:

(a) Prepared Solo–Student's choice
(b) Two Scales–Judge's choice
(c) A selection or two from the concert music–Judge's choice

Need-based Financial Scholarships

The YJSO also offers need-based financial scholarships for qualified students. These scholarships provide financial assistance for annual YJSO membership dues and private instrument lessons for the duration of the season, September-May.
